Product Builder
Turn a supplier sheet into a ready-to-import Shopify product file. Wholesale becomes the cost, retail becomes the price, and the item number becomes the SKU. Nothing leaves this page: your data is processed right here.
Add your spreadsheet
Drop the sheet straight from Excel, no converting needed. You can also paste rows instead.
Check the columns
Each of your columns was matched to a Shopify field. Fix any that look wrong; set columns you don't need to "Ignore column".
| Your column | First value | Becomes |

Shopify uses the category to work out tax rates, so give every product one. The pick above applies to the whole file; a Category column in your sheet overrides it per product.
Draft is the safe choice: the products arrive hidden so you can add photos and descriptions before publishing them.
With more than one location, Shopify ignores quantities in the product file, so you also get a separate inventory file. Type the location name exactly as it appears in Shopify, capitalization included.
No photo links? That's normal. Most sheets don't have them. Add pictures in Shopify after the import.

Copy everything below and save it as products.csv:
Products in. Photos next.
Photo Finish, our Shopify app, matches photo files to products by SKU and adds thousands of images in minutes.
Get Photo FinishImporting into Shopify
- In Shopify admin, go to Products, then click Import.
- Add the downloaded file. Importing these products for the first time? Leave "Overwrite products with matching handles" unchecked. Re-importing after a fix? Check it, so the products update instead of duplicating.
- Click Upload and preview, check the preview, then click Import products.
- Once the products are in, go to Products > Inventory, click Import, and upload the inventory file to set the stock at your location.
Nothing here can break your live store: products imported as drafts are invisible to shoppers until you publish them. Photos can always be added in Shopify afterwards. Quantities in the product file only apply to stores with a single location; with more than one location, pick "More than one" above and import the separate inventory file too. Upload the downloaded files to Shopify exactly as they are: opening and re-saving a CSV in Excel can strip leading zeros from SKUs and barcodes.
